A passenger suffered a broken ankle in a golf cart rollover in The Villages.
A man driving a Nissan Pathfinder nosed out onto Morse Boulevard from Carrera Drive near the postal station at about 3 p.m. Thursday prompting a man driving a golf cart southbound in the golf cart lane on Morse Boulevard to swerve to avoid a collision, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
The golf cart driver overcorrected and the golf cart flipped over onto the driver’s side of the vehicle. A female passenger suffered a fractured right ankle. She was transported by ambulance to UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital. The man driving the golf cart was not injured.
There were no citations issued as the two vehicles never had any physical contact.
