A 58-year-old man was critically injured Wednesday morning after being hit by a Mustang SUV while crossing a busy Boynton Beach intersection.

According to a crash report from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 7:19 a.m. at South Military Trail and Pipers Glen Boulevard.

Deputies say a 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E was traveling southbound on South Military Trail in the middle lane as the man was approaching the intersection on a green traffic signal.

When the pedestrian crossed outside the designated crosswalk, the Mustang struck him, causing critical injuries.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue transported the man to Delray Medical Center for treatment, where he remains in serious condition.
