Pedestrian dead after crash involving SUV in North Naples

A Naples man is dead after a crash north of Vanderbilt Beach Road on Tuesday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 62-year-old man was crossing in front of an SUV around 8:05 p.m.

The report says the front of the SUV crashed into the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Damage to the driver’s side mirror and front windshield of the SUV.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, two lanes of southbound Tamiami Trail were closed at Vanderbilt Beach Road due to the crash.

FHP says the crash remains under investigation.
