A pedestrian was killed on Saturday morning after a hit-and-run in Lehigh Acres.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene on Lee Blvd., near Hannah Avenue N, around 5 a.m.
Troopers said a grey Kia was driving east on Lee Blvd. before colliding with a pedestrian. The vehicle then reportedly fled the scene of the crash.
FHP said a 60-year-old man was pronounced dead on the scene.
Troopers said they received information regarding the vehicle’s location. FHP responded to the park car which they said was partially covered by a tarp with the license plate removed.
The Florida Highway Patrol is asking anyone with information regarding the hit-and-run driver to call Southwest Florida Crimestoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).
