A pedestrian was hit and killed on a major highway in southern Columbia County on Wednesday morning.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers say a 73-year-old man from High Springs was walking in the northbound lane of U.S. Highway 41 around 5 a.m.
Near Adams Street, a car headed north struck the man, knocking him into the southbound lane, where a van headed south then hit him.
The man died at the scene. The two drivers weren’t hurt in the crash. State troopers are investigating the crash.
