Pedestrian dies after being struck by pickup in Bithlo

 A woman was struck by a pickup truck in Bithlo Friday morning and later died, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. at Cedarhurst Road and N 6th Street, troopers said.

According to a preliminary FHP crash report, the woman was taken to AdventHealth East Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Further details of her identity are pending, the report states.

The 35-year-old Orlando man driving the pickup truck and his passenger, a 28-year-old man from Sanford, remained at the scene and were not hospitalized, according to FHP.

A roadblock was established in the area as the investigation continues.
