A Belle Glade woman was fatally injured Tuesday night and died just 13 minutes after being hit by an SUV, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
The collision happened around 7:45 p.m. on NW 1st Street, just south of NW Avenue I. PBSO says a 2021 Honda Pilot was traveling northbound when it struck the pedestrian, who was crossing the roadway.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue transported the victim to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 7:58 p.m., according to PBSO.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities, according to the crash report. No charges have been filed, and the investigation is ongoing.
