A pedestrian was fatally struck by a train in Oakland Park on Saturday afternoon, deputies said.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, deputies received reports of a pedestrian struck by a train near the 1600 block of West Oakland Park Boulevard.

Once deputies arrived at the scene, they found the pedestrian, and they were pronounced deceased.

Their identity was not disclosed.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
