A driver who struck a pedestrian in a wheelchair in Fort Lauderdale Saturday night remains on the loose, police said.

According to Fort Lauderdale Police, officers arrived at the area of Northwest 11th Avenue and West Broward Boulevard after receiving reports of a hit-and-run.

Police said that a black vehicle struck the pedestrian and fled the scene on West Broward Boulevard.

It is unclear whether the pedestrian was taken to the hospital.

The investigation into the hit-and-run remains active.
