Authorities are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed on U.S. 1 in Cutler Bay early Wednesday.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened at around 3:46 a.m. in the area of Southwest 184th Street.
Troopers said that a man tried to cross the southbound lanes outside the crosswalk and was struck by a Kia SUV.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not released.
Due to the crash, U.S. 1 was closed for about two hours, but the roadway has since been open.
The incident remains under investigation.
