Driver fled on foot after crash, FHP says

A pedestrian was killed in a crash involving a pickup truck early Saturday morning in Christmas, and the driver fled the scene on foot, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP said the crash happened about 5:10 a.m. Saturday in a wooded area in Christmas in Orange County, northeast of State Road 520 and south of State Road 50 (Colonial Drive).

Troopers said the driver fled the scene on foot.

The crash involved a 2020 GMC Sierra and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian’s identity has not been confirmed, and the person was pronounced dead at the scene, FHP said.

The crash remains under investigation.
