A 35-year-old Bradenton man was killed Monday night when he hit by a van as he was walking across U.S. 41, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Investigators say the man was standing on the sidewalk of the west side of U.S. 41 near 28th Avenue West at about 9:15 p.m., when he walked into the road.
At the same time, a van driven by a 41-year-old man from Bradenton was heading south, in the right lane.
The van hit the pedestrian, who died at the scene.
The investigation is continuing, troopers said.
