Pedestrian sent to the hospital after being hit by car in Lehigh Acres

A pedestrian was transported to the hospital after being hit by a car in Lehigh Acres shortly before midnight on Wednesday.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of a crash on Sunshine Boulevard North and Ida Avenue North at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday.

Once at the scene, deputies discovered that a pedestrian had been hit by a car. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital, and the car remained at the scene.

At the time of the crash, Sunshine Boulevard was blocked, but it has since reopened.
