Pedestrian standing on US-301 struck by 3 cars in Clay County: Florida Highway Patrol

A pedestrian is dead after the Florida Highway Patrol said they were standing in the middle of a busy Clay County road Tuesday night and were hit by three different vehicles.

According to FHP, the pedestrian was standing in the southbound travel lanes on U.S. 301, just north of CR-125. It’s unclear why the man was standing on the highway.

A sports utility vehicle hit the man first. Then a semitruck also traveling south collided with the man.

FHP said a pickup truck hit the man as well following the first two impacts.

The three vehicles involved pulled over. The pedestrian died on the scene.

The crash is under investigation.

No one else was injured.
