Pedestrian struck and killed by train in West Palm Beach

 A person is dead after they were struck by a train near Clare Avenue on Wednesday.

The West Palm beach Police Department said at about 6:45 p.m., officers responded to a train v. pedestrian crash along Clare Avenue. Officers say they were able to locate the person near the train tracks who was fatally injured.

As of this writing, eastbound Old Okeechobee Road at Parker Avenue is closed off to traffic, police say.

Travelers are advised to take Parker Avenue to Caroline Street as alternate route.
