Pedestrian struck by train in Daytona Beach

A pedestrian was struck by a train Tuesday morning in Daytona Beach, according to police.

In a post online, the Daytona Beach Police Department said the incident happened at Mason Avenue and the FEC railroad tracks.

Police said the train is currently stopped on the tracks and is blocking the eastbound and westbound roads from Mason Avenue to International Speedway Boulevard.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area.
