A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Wednesday night on Interstate 95 in northeast Miami-Dade, authorities confirmed.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash was reported just after 9:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the highway near Miami Gardens Drive.
Troopers said the pedestrian was struck by an oncoming vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Southbound I-95 was closed at Ives Dairy Road during the preliminary investigation and was re-opened at about 1:20 am. Thursday.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
