A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a van on Lee Boulevard in Fort Myers Friday morning.

The Fort Myers Police Department responded to the scene around 7:05 a.m.

FMPD said a pedestrian was struck by a van after failing to use a crosswalk. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital where police said they succumbed to their injuries.
