A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries when they were hit by a driver that may have fled the scene in Fort Lauderdale early Wednesday, officials said.
The incident happened shortly before 1:30 a.m. in the 400 block of East Sunrise Boulevard.
Fort Lauderdale Police said officers responded to a “possible hit and run traffic crash” and the pedestrian was rushed to the hospital.
The pedestrian’s identity wasn’t released.
The vehicle involved was found a short distance away and was unoccupied, police said.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
