A 37-year-old Pensacola woman was seriously injured after a three-car crash in Escambia County on Tuesday afternoon.
Florida Highway Patrol says a red light at Blue Angel Parkway and US 98 caused traffic to be backed up. At around 3:20 p.m., a 62-year-old Pensacola man in a white Land Rover and a 68-year-old Pensacola man in a Tesla were both in the northbound lanes when the woman driving a Toyota Camry “failed to slow to a speed slow enough to avoid a rear end collision.”
According to FHP, the woman hit the back of the Tesla on its left side. She then rolled onto its roof. The impact pushed the Tesla into the back of the Land Rover.
She was life flighted to Sacred Heart Hospital with serious injuries, says FHP. The 68-year-old Tesla driver was taken to Perdido Key ER with minor injuries by Escambia County EMS.
The 62-year-old man driving the Land Rover did not have any injuries, according to FHP.
FHP says the woman was “cited for careless driving and no seatbelt.”
