A person was killed after being hit by a vehicle early Friday morning at Orlando International Airport, the Orlando Police Department said.
Airport officials said the person was hit near Garage B just after midnight. That’s near Jeff Fuqua and Airport boulevards.
The person was pronounced deceased at the scene, OPD said. The driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Officials were seen towing the van involved in the crash from the scene.
All northbound traffic on Jeff Fuqua Boulevard was shut down after the incident. However, traffic has now cleared. The garage was also closed but has since reopened.
The airport is encouraging passengers to allow extra time for their commute this morning.
