A person was killed after they were struck by a SUV, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO).
PBSO says a woman driving a 2015 Cadillac Escalade was travelling westbound on Palmetto Park Road passing Hammock Street.
Around the same time a person on an electric scooter was travelling on the same road. It’s unclear what the person on the scooter did, but it caused the driver of the Cadillac to swerve to the left in an attempt to avoid striking the scooter rider.
PBSO says the front passenger side headlight struck the pedestrian. The collision caused the person to hit the bottom right corner of the windshield, they were then thrown to the right onto the grass shoulder.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBCFR) responded to the scene and pronounced the person dead. The driver of the Cadillac did not sustain any injuries.
