Pickup truck driver critically hurt in crash with big rig on I-95 near SR-407 in Brevard

A pickup truck driver was critically injured early Friday in a crash with a tractor-trailer on I-95 in Brevard County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The wreck happened around 2:55 a.m. on I-95 north near State Road 407, not far from Titusville.

The FHP said a 2025 Toyota Tacoma crashed into the big rig, causing the trailer to detach from the cab.

The pickup driver was airlifted to Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center with critical injuries, according to troopers.

The big rig driver was not injured and remained at the scene, the FHP said.

I-95 north was closed in the area, but the lanes were later reopened.
