Pickup vs. semi-truck crash leaves 1 dead in Alachua

A man from the city of Alachua was killed in a wreck involving a semi-truck on Wednesday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say a semi-truck was exting the Dollar General Distribution Center on County Road 235A, south of County Road 2054 in Alachua around 6 a.m.

A pickup truck headed south struck the side of the trailer. The pickup driver, a 55-year-old man, died at the scene. The semi-truck driver wasn’t hurt.
