Authorities are investigating after a single-engine plane crashed on a private stretch of land east of Interstate 95 in Indian River County.
It happened around 10:30 a.m. south of the Vero Lakes Estates.
The pilot, who was the only person on board, was airlifted to the hospital. His name has not been released at this time.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are on their way to the crash scene.
