A pilot was taken to the hospital after their plane went down in Volusia County Thursday afternoon.

The sheriff’s office said the small plane crashed off of Edison Drive, near the intersection with State Road 11, in DeLand.

Investigators said the pilot was the only person on the plane.

The sheriff’s office did not provide details on what may have caused the crash or how badly the pilot was hurt.
