A plane crash in Titusville left two people hospitalized, according to the police department
In a release, police said they received a call around 2:13 p.m., reporting that a small plane had crashed into a wooded area just west of Space Coast Regional Airport and north of Shepard Drive.
“The call was made by the occupants of the aircraft, identified as a flight instructor and a student pilot,” the release reads.
First responders then responded to the scene, where they found that one of the occupants had suffered serious injuries, the release continues. Meanwhile, the other occupant sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said that both of them were then taken to local hospitals for treatment.
A federal agency is set to investigate what caused the crash.
