Police: 1 dead after Pensacola crash on Scenic Highway at Rothschild Drive

One person is dead following a head-on crash was reported in Pensacola Friday evening.

Pensacola Police say the incident happened on Scenic Highway at Rothschild Drive around 6 p.m. According to police, lanes are shut down in both directions.

Police say a vehicle crossed over the center line on Scenic Hwy., going headfirst into another vehicle.

“The reason the first vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic is still unclear,” police say.

The driver of the second vehicle was pronounced dead on scene, police say. Passengers of this vehicle were taken to the hospital.

The driver, who police say is at fault, was also hospitalized.
