One man is dead, and another is in critical condition after shots were fired at a Melbourne park on Saturday, according to police.
Melbourne police said a crowd had gathered at Eddie Lee Taylor Park to watch youth football games. However, other people were also at the park after the funeral of a man who was murdered back on Sept. 10.
Police said gunshots were heard at around 7:24 p.m. at the entrance and exit of the park, prompting the crows of people to flee.
After the shooting, police said two men were found shot.
One was transported to the hospital and is in critical condition, while the other man was found in the parking lot and died at the hospital, according to police.
So far, possible suspects have not been identified.
Around 12 police markers were placed in Monroe Street as police continue investigating what led to the shooting.
