Police: 19-year-old arrested after confessing to killing man during attempted robbery in Cocoa

A 19-year-old has been arrested after confessing to murdering a man in Cocoa during an attempted robbery on Friday.

According to the Cocoa Police Department, officers responded to the area of Crestview Road and Monopoly Lane after reports said a man had been shot.

Witnesses at the scene said they observed the victim walking with a case of beer before collapsing to the ground.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim, 43-year-old Factor Adrian Tejax Curup, unresponsive and bleeding due to gunshot wounds.

Curup was airlifted to the Holmes Regional Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Within less than 24 hours, officers said they found a suspect in connection to the murder, who was identified as 19-year-old Kendrick Anderson.
