A 45-year-old Fort Walton Beach man is dead after a pickup truck hit him while he was on his bike Saturday afternoon.
The Fort Walton Beach Police Department said the crash happened around 4: 30 p.m. on U.S. Highway 98 and Miracle Strip Parkway in front of the Misty Breeze Condominiums.
Police identified the crash victim as Jason Turpen. They say a black Chevrolet pickup truck hit Turpen while he was riding his bike on the south side sidewalk on U.S. Highway 98.
According to police, Turpen was taken to the HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital. But later on he was pronounced dead.
The investigation is still active said police.
