Police: Boy, 12, accidentally shoots himself in head in Homestead

Homestead police are investigating after they said a 12-year-old boy accidentally shot himself in the head at a home in Homestead.

The shooting occurred Sunday in the 1800 block of Southeast 13th Street.

According to Homestead police Capt. Fernando Morales, the boy was airlifted to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.

No other details were immediately released.
