HIALEAH, Fla. – After a burglary victim was injured in Hialeah, Shakala Simone Smith told a detective her sister wanted her Sony PlayStation game console back, according to a police arrest report released on Wednesday.
The woman claimed the game console was hers, and she reported Smith’s sister Daneill Dishan Henry threatened to stab her with a knife and a gunman threatened to shoot her over it.
The woman also reported Smith, 28; Henry, 25; and another woman broke into her apartment and attacked her. The violence included biting and punching which hurt her hand, foot, and lip, police said.
The woman told police the trio stole her PlayStation console and when she tried to recover it a gunman intervened and threatened to shoot her, according to police.
The four fled in a pickup truck with her game console, according to the police reports in the case. The woman identified Henry, Smith, and Smith’s boyfriend Sean Vance, but could not identify the other woman.
Records show the burglary was on Jan. 24, in Hialeah’s Seminola neighborhood. Records show two of the four suspects were behind bars on Wednesday night.
Records show detectives arrested Henry shortly before 2:50 p.m., and Smith at 3:40 p.m., on Tuesday, at the police station in Hialeah. The sisters reported they both live in Miami’s Liberty City.
Miami-Dade County correctional officers booked Henry shortly before 4 p.m., and Smith at about 7 p.m., on Tuesday. They appeared in court on Wednesday.
Henry was facing a charge of armed burglary and Smith was facing a burglary charge. A judge denied Henry’s bond and ordered house arrest for Smith with a $2,500 bond. They were both at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Wednesday night.
