Police identify 23-year-old woman who jumped to her death from truck on I-95 in PSL

Police say a Port St. Lucie woman jumped to her death from a moving pickup truck on I-95 early Saturday, moments after warning a friend.

The investigation by the Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD) revealed that a 2017 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by a 24-year-old Port St. Lucie man was traveling northbound on I-95 with 23-year-old Taylor Joan Robert, also of Port St. Lucie, in the passenger seat.

The duo was reportedly returning home from a Halloween party in West Palm Beach.

During the drive, police say Robert was talking to a friend on the phone when she told the friend she was going to jump — moments before the call dropped.

Investigators believe that Robert jumped from the pickup into the roadway and succumbed to her injuries.

The driver allegedly stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

PSLPD urges anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has video of the incident to contact Detective Giaccone at (772) 807-4401 or Treasure Coast Crimestoppers at (800) 273-8477.
