Police investigate after vehicle hits pedestrian in wheelchair in West Palm Beach: WPBPD

A pedestrian crossing the street in motorized wheelchair was struck by a vehicle on Monday night, according to the West Palm Beach Police Department (WPBPD).

Police say at about 7:30 p.m. officers responded to Nottingham Boulevard after receiving reports of a vehicle versus pedestrian crash. WPBPD says once on scene, officers determined that the pedestrian in the motorized wheelchair was crossing northbound at Nottingham Boulevard when they were suddenly hit by a vehicle.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries, police say.

Police said the driver remained at the scene. At this time the investigation is ongoing.
