Police investigating double shooting in Opa-locka

Police in Miami-Dade County are investigating a double shooting.

It happened Thursday afternoon in the area of Northwest 22nd Avenue and 139th Place in Opa-locka.

According to Opa-locka police, officers responded to the scene and found several shell casings on the ground.

Soon after, deputies with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office notified officers of two shooting victims who were found at a Wendy’s located at Northwest 119th Street and 27th Place.

Both victims were rushed to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, but there has been no update on their health status.

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

Police did not say whether they were seeking any suspects or persons of interest.
