Police investigating homicide after teen brought to hospital with traumatic injuries.

A 14-year-old boy was brought to a Plant City hospital overnight with “upper body trauma” and later died, police said.

Officers responded to the hospital around 1 a.m. on Thursday. Another male was also taken to the hospital with similar traumatic injuries and is currently receiving treatment, according to a release from officials. Police have not yet shared the age of the second victim, as well as how or if the two incidents are connected.

It’s not clear what happened to the teen to cause the deadly injuries, but the Plant City Police Department has opened a homicide investigation.

Investigators are asking anyone with information on what happened to contact the agency at 813-757-9200.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
