Police: Man found dead after Fort Lauderdale shooting

A man was fatally shot early Monday morning in Fort Lauderdale, police confirmed.

According to Fort Lauderdale police, officers responded to the 1000 block of Park Drive around 2 a.m. after receiving a ShotSpotter alert, as well as a call about shots being fired in the area.

Police said responding officers found a man who had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police did not immediately have information about the shooter.

They said detectives are investigating the circumstances leading up to the shooting and are asking members of the public to come forward with any information.
