Miami police are investigating a double shooting that was reported early Thursday morning.
According to police, someone called 911 around 12:40 a.m. to report that two people had been shot in the area of Northwest 11th Street and 24th Avenue.
Police said officers arrived at the scene and found a man and woman suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the stomach area.
Both were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center and are currently listed in critical condition.
Police said the shooter fled the scene before officers arrived. They believe the shooting may have been domestic-related.
A Local 10 News crew was in the area later in the morning as the investigation was still underway and spotted a white GMC with a bullet hole in the windshield.
“In the morning, like 2 o’clock in the morning, the police touch my door (and said) ‘you(r) car has something!’” L V said.
V told Local 10 News that she was shocked that a shooting occurred just steps away from her apartment.
“It’s (a) surprise for me — I get nervous,” she said.
The investigation remains ongoing and no other details were immediately released.
Anyone with information about the double shooting is asked to call the Miami Police Department or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
