A suspect was arrested Tuesday after police said he shot and killed a man outside a restaurant in Sunrise over the weekend.
Sunrise police said officers responded to reports of gunfire near the 8300 block of West Oakland Park Boulevard around 11:25 p.m. Saturday and found the victim, identified as J O S, unresponsive after suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
First responders from Sunrise Fire Rescue provided medical treatment before transporting the victim to Broward Health Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to an arrest report.
Investigators said the victim was intubated and unable to provide a statement to investigators before he died, authorities said.
Witnesses at the scene described the suspect, leading officers to detain 23-year-old R J P Jr. after police said they located him in the parking lot near the crime scene.
Detectives said investigators collected statements from four witnesses who claimed they saw the shooting.
J records show Pool is facing a charge of first-degree premeditated murder.
As of Wednesday, he is being held without bond at the Broward Main Jail.
