A woman has died after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday night in Miramar, authorities confirmed.
According to Miramar police, the incident was reported at about 9:30 p.m. in the 6800 block of Miramar Parkway.
Police said officers arrived at the scene and found a Black female dead in the roadway.
“Preliminary investigation revealed the driver was driving eastbound on Miramar Pkwy and the 6800 block where a black female ran across the road towards the bus stop,” a spokesperson for the police department said in an email to Local 10 News.
The spokesperson said the driver then struck the pedestrian.
The roadway was closed to traffic during the investigation.
The victim’s identity was not immediately released. It does not appear the driver will face charges.
