The Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD) is investigating a couple’s alleged murder-suicide Saturday morning.
PSLPD said they responded to a call regarding gunshots around 2:52 a.m. in a neighborhood on Northwest Cromey Street in Port St. Lucie.
When officers arrived on the scene, they reported finding a 51-year-old male and a 52-year-old woman dead in a bedroom, both with gunshot wounds.
Officials stated that the male had shot his wife multiple times as she was sleeping in bed, and then he had shot himself.
According to PSLPD, two 16-year-old girls, a family member, and her friend were inside the home at the time of the shooting.
Officers clarified that the two girls were unharmed.
PSLPD stated that this is an ongoing investigation, and there is moderate police presence in the area.
