A shooting occurred early Tuesday morning in north Leon County, leaving one pregnant woman and her unborn child dead and a man behind bars, according to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office.
Jha’kari Martin-Sugrin, 22, faces two counts of manslaughter and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony in connection to the shooting that happened on River Breeze Lane, LCSO said.
The incident unfolded around 1 a.m. when deputies were dispatched to a local hospital to investigate a shooting involving a pregnant woman, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies learned that Martin-Sugrin transported the victim to the hospital, where LCSO said she and her unborn child died due to the injuries.
