A person was injured on Friday after a propane grill caught fire, according to Citrus County Fire Rescue.

Rescuers said that around 5:34 p.m. they responded to calls about a structure fire on N. Manor Way.

On arrival, Rescuers said they found one person inside the house with minor injuries due to not being able to escape from the area of the flames.

That person was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Rescuers determined that the fire originated from a propane grill they found on the rear patio.

Crew members were able to extinguish the fire and remove the propane tank safely in about an hour.

The total cost of damages is estimated to be $800.

Citrus County Fire Rescue wants to advise residents to ‘exercise caution when using propane grills.’

They suggest always making sure the propane tanks and valves are in working condition and keeping the grill a safe distance from flammable materials.
