A multi-county pursuit of a suspect wanted for attempted homicide ended with a rollover crash in Lakeland, officials said Friday.
The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said the pursuit began around 2 p.m. in Zephyrhills.
The suspect, who has not yet been named, and two others were inside a vehicle that fled from an attempted traffic stop, according to deputies.
The pursuit crossed into Polk County, where Polk County deputies were called for assistance.
Authorities said the driver of the suspect vehicle hit two other cars before crashing near U.S. 98 North and Duff Road, north of Lakeland.
A spokesperson for the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened around 2:30 p.m., and the vehicle ended up rolling over onto its roof.
According to Polk County Fire Rescue, all three occupants of the vehicle were taken to the hospital as trauma alerts. However, Pasco County officials said “no other serious injuries were reported.”
The attempted homicide suspect was taken into custody, and deputies said the driver of the vehicle was also found to have an active warrant.
No further information was immediately provided.
The intersection of U.S. 98 and Duff Road was closed down while authorities investigated.
