Streets are flooding in Cape Coral, North Fort Myers, and Fort Myers after neighborhoods received several inches of rain during Monday afternoon storms.
Some streets are impassable, and cars have gotten stuck in high water.
Fire crews responded to a North Fort Myers gas station where part of the canopy collapsed, injuring one person at Hancock Bridge Parkway and Orange Grove Boulevard.
According to NBC2’s First Alert Storm Team, a flood advisory is active until 7:45 pm Monday for Cape Coral, Pine Island, parts of Sanibel, and North Fort Myers.
NBC2 Meteorologist Rob Duns says strong thunderstorms have dropped between 6 and 9″ of rain over areas of Cape Coral. Other areas of Lee County have experienced flooding rain totals from 2 to 5″ of rain.
Southern Cape Coral has experienced the worst of tonight’s flooding. Radar estimates place a swath of 7″+ from SW Cape Coral toward NE Cape Coral along Del Prado Boulevard, according to NBC2 Meteorologist Rob Duns. Many areas along Cape Coral Parkway also received over 7″ of rain tonight.
Some Cape Coral residents are saying they haven’t seen flooding like this since Hurricane Ian.
NBC2’s First Alert Storm Team says to expect flooded streets through 8 p.m., especially in Cape Coral.
At 6:24 p.m., Lee County Public Safety reported nearly 50 stalled cars in southern and central Cape Coral as extensive road flooding continues. They have not reported any injuries.

According to the City of Sanibel, the Blind Pass parking lot is also now temporarily closed due to flooding.
