Rapper Offset ‘stable’ after getting shot near Hard Rock casino in Hollywood

Rapper Offset ‘stable' after getting shot near Hard Rock casino in Hollywood

Rapper and singer Offset was in stable condition after he was shot Monday near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood.

A spokesperson for the rapper confirmed the shooting in a statement to NBC News and said he was hospitalized and receiving medical care.

“He is stable and being closely monitored,” the spokesperson said.

The Seminole Police Department said a person was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries following an “incident” that happened after 7 p.m. in the valet area outside the Hard Rock casino. Police did not identify the victim.

“The site is secure and there is no threat to the public,” Seminole Police said, adding that casino operations continued as normal.

Two people were detained and authorities are investigating the incident, police said. In an updated statement Tuesday, Seminole police said Tione Jayden Marrett, a rapper who goes by the name Lil Tjay, was charged with disorderly conduct in connection with the incident. Police did not say what role Marrett may have played in the incident, but noted it began with a fight. Marrett’s attorney said in a statement that LilTjay was not involved in the shooting.

The second person detained has not been charged and investigators are looking to identify “one or more persons” involved, according to Seminole Police.

NBC6 has reached out to the casino for more information.

Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was formerly a part of the Atlanta-based hip hop trio Migos. His cousin Takeoff, another member of Migos, was killed in a shooting in 2022.

Offset was formerly married to Cardi B, with whom he shares three children. The couple secretly wed in September 2017. Cardi B announced in 2024 that she filed for divorce.
