A motorcyclist died Tuesday night after crashing into an SUV on Interstate 295 in Jacksonville, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
According to FHP’s crash report, the motorcyclist who was a 33-year-old Jacksonville man, was traveling northbound on the interstate at Morse Avenue in the left lane.
At the same time, the report says the SUV, which was driven by a 55-year-old Middleburg man, was traveling northbound on I-295 at Morse Avenue, too, in the right lane.
The motorcyclist was “traveling at a high rate of speed, changed lanes, and struck” the back of the SUV, the report states.
Troopers say the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene; the Middleburg man didn’t suffer any injuries in the crash.
