A Riviera Beach police officer is in the hospital after he crashed into a utility pole and then a tree on Tuesday.
The Riviera Beach Police Department spokesperson Mike Jachles said the officer was on patrol when the single-vehicle crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of 13th Street and Australian Avenue.
The crash prompted a response from Riviera Beach Fire Rescue.
He was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where he is conscious, police say.
At this time, it’s unclear what may have caused the crash.
