Road closure due to crash on Airport Road and Highway 390

UPDATE: According to a traffic report released by the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash they responded to on Friday has left two adults in serious condition from their injuries and two children in critical condition.

The crash involved an SUV driven by a 47-year-old Panama City Beach resident and a van driven by an 18-year-old Lynn Haven Resident.

FHP says that a witness told them “the silver SUV was traveling east on State Road 390, in the inside lane, when the vehicle abruptly crossed over the left turn lane and center median, before entering into the oncoming traffic lane. The grey van was traveling west on State Road 390, in the inside travel lane. The right front of the silver collided with the right front of the grey van.”

The SUV had four passengers, two of which are juveniles aged nine and five years old, and FHP says all four passengers were transported to Bay Medical Sacred Heart.

A traffic accident at the intersection of Airport Road and Highway 390 has caused a road closure.

According to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, it is not known when the road will reopen.

Law enforcement suggests a detour onto Lisenby to get to 23rd Street.

NewsChannel 7 has a reporter heading to the crash and will update this story with more information.
